NHL Awards: Evgeni Malkin Wins MVP

Evgeni Malkin took home the Hart Trophy at the NHL Awards show on Wednesday night in Las Vegas. Henrik Lundqvist was named the league's top goalie and earned the Vezina Trophy.

The NHL held it's annual awards show on Wednesday night in Las Vegas and the night's big winner was Evgeni Malkin who beat out a loaded field and took home the Hart Trophy after being named the league's most valuable player. The Penguins forward recorded 50 goals and totaled 109 points for Pittsburgh this past season. Other big winners included New York Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist who won his first Vezina Trophy after being named the NHL's top goalie. Lundqvist edged out Conn Smythe Award winner Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings. Other winners included Florida Panthers defenseman Brian Campbell who won the Lady Byng Trophy while St. Louis Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock went home with the Jack Adams Award after being named the league's top coach.
