Looking to fill a void created by the loss of captain Chris Pronger, who is unlikely to return due to post-concussion syndrome, the Flyers acquired defenseman Luke Schenn on Saturday from the Maple Leafs in exchange for forward James Van Reimsdyk. Schenn, known for his physical play, had 14 goals and 61 assists in 4 seasons in Toronto. Van Riemsdyk had 47 goals and 52 assists in 3 seasons with the Flyers after being picked 2nd overall by the team in the 2007 draft. Luke Schenn is the older brother of current Flyers forward Brayden Schenn. The move comes a day after another set of brothers were reunited when Jordan Staal was traded from the Penguins to the Hurricanes to play with his brother Eric.
