Cleveland Cavaliers Lose to Pistons

The visiting Cavaliers fell to the Detroit Pistons on Monday, 89-79. Rookie Dion Waiters sat out with a sprained ankle for the Cavaliers, who shot only 34 percent from the field in the loss.

The sputtering Cavaliers took on Lawrence Frank's Pistons, winners of four straight at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Charlie Villanueva's only two points came on a vicious slam to extend Detriot's lead in the fourth. However, Cleveland mounted a charge down the stretch. Anderson Varajao finished with 17 points and 18 boards for his ninth straight double double, but it in the end it wasn't enough. Tayshaun Prince's tough fallaway bank plus the foul capped Detroit's 89-79 victory.
