Bobcats to Name Mike Dunlap Head Coach

The Charlotte Bobcats will reportedly name St. John's assistant Mike Dunlap their new head coach, replacing Paul Silas. Dunlap has been an assistant with both the Denver Nuggets and St. John's.

According to sources, the Charlotte Bobcats will name St. Johns University assistant Mike Dunlap as their new head coach. Dunlap spent two years as an assistant under George Karl with the Denver Nuggets and he served as the de facto head coach at St. John's for most of the past season as head coach Steve Lavin recuperated from prostate cancer surgery. Dunlap will have take over for Paul Silas who was not granted a contact extension after the team finished 7-59, and a .106 winning percentage, the worst in NBA history.
