The Yankees offense was shut down by Jon Lester and the Red Sox on Saturday. David Phelps allowed three runs on seven hits over 6 2/3, while opposing starter Lester gave up just one run on five hits in seven innings of work. Boston opened up the game with an Adrian Gonzalez two-run blast in the first. Curtis Granderson went yard for his 32nd home run of the year, but New York failed to score another run. Pedro Ciriaco owned the Yankees going 4-for-4 on the night and Nick Punto and Scott Podsednik added RBIs of their own to help the BoSox split the first two games with the Bombers in a 4-1 win.
