The slumping Phillies loss their third straight game as they dropped the series opener to the Twins. Starter Kyle Kendrick was lit up for 8 hits and six runs over four innings of work in the loss. Philly Designated Hitter Jim Thome led the way on offense for the Phils, going 2-4 with two RBI in the 11-7 loss to the Twins. The sliding Phillies fell 9.5 games behind the Nationals in the NL East as they've lost nine of their last ten.
