The Reds narrowly avoided a 3 game sweep by the Marlins on Sunday. Cincinnati starter Mat Latos allowed 4 runs on 7 hits while striking out 8 over 7 2/3rds innings of work. Latos' counterpart Ricky Nolasco pitched 5 innings, surrendering 3 runs on 10 hits while striking out 4, both pitchers did not factor in the decision. Jose Reyes tied the game at four in the eight with his RBI double, as the contest would be decided in extra innings. Ryan Ludwick knocked in the go-ahead run with his RBI single in the 11th as the Reds edged the Fish 5-4.
