The Orioles acquired Jim Thome from the Phillies for two Class A prospects. The 41-year old Thome has 609 career home runs and Is batting .242 with five homers and 15 RBI in thirty games this season. Baltimore shipped catcher Gabriel Lino and right handed pitcher Kyle Simon to the Phils for Thome, who figures to see more at bats as the O's designated hitter after mostly pinch-hitting for the Phillies in the National League.
