The Angels dropped the rubber game to the Rangers at Angel Stadium on Thursday night. Zack Greinke put together his sixth straight stellar start, tossing eight innings of one run ball. The righty struck out eight batters while not issuing a walk. Greinke's counterpart, Yu Darvish, was just as good. The Japanese import picked up the win by allowing one run over eight innings of work. Adrian Beltre belted a go-ahead, two-run homer off closer Ernesto Frieri in the top of the ninth to give Texas the 3-1 road win. The Angels now trail the A's by four-and-a-half games for the second wild card in the American League.
