Lohse Solid, Cardinals Blank Indians

Kyle Lohse tossed 7 2/3 scoreless innings as the St. Louis Cardinals shut out the Cleveland Indians, 2-0. Carlos Beltran's 17th homer of the year was all the offense the Cardinals would need.

Kyle Lohse led the Cardinals past the Indians at Busch Stadium on Saturday night. Lohse picked up his sixth win of the season while fanning four batters in 7 2/3 scoreless innings of work. Indians starter Justin Masterson allowed five hits and one earned in six innings. The first run of the night came in the third inning when Carlos Beltran connected on his National League-leading 17th home run of year and Rafael Furcal drove in the other on sacrifice fly in the eighth as the Indians were blanked by the Cardinals, 2-0.
