The Orioles needed extra innings but eked out a walk-off win against the Phillies. Philadelphia starter Vance Worley surrendered three runs, one earned on five hits and struck out five. Baltimore hurler Tommy Hunter allowed three runs on eight hits, all three runs came via the solo home run. Both starter did not factor in the decision as this game went 12 innings. In the home half of the frame, center fielder Adam Jones blasted a two-run shot off reliever B.J. Rosenberg as the O’s nipped the Phils 6-4. The series concludes Sunday afternoon with Philadelphia’s Cliff Lee facing Baltimore’s Jason Hammel.
