Ibanez Powers Yankees Past Blue Jays

Raul Ibanez belted a grand slam in the eighth inning which led the New York Yankees to a 6-3 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. Robinson Cano extended his hitting streak to 19 games in the win.

The Yankees doubled up their AL East rival Blue Jays in their series opener Monday night. Phil Hughes was solid through seven, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out four, but did not factor in the decision. Robinson Cano extended his hitting streak to a career-high 19 games with his third inning double. And in the eighth with the game tied at two, Raul Ibanez hit a grand slam with two outs to power New York past Toronto 6-3.
