The Indians were swept by the Mariners Wednesday afternoon. Cleveland hurler Zach McAllister limited Seattle to one run on three hits while recording four strikeouts through six innings. The lone-run came in the first when center fielder Michael Saunders blasted his 14th home run of the season. The Tribe tied things up in the sixth with Casey Kotchman's RBI single. But in the home half of the eighth, reliever Vinnie Pestano served up a two run double by Eric Thames and the Mariners held on for the 3-1 victory. The Indians finished their west-coast road-trip with a 1-8 record and return home for a weekend series with the Yankees starting Friday.
