The Braves bested the Blue Jays for a season-high sixth straight victory. Second baseman Dan Uggla got Atlanta started with a three-run blast in the third, his 11th of the year. Right-hander Tommy Hanson limited Toronto to two runs on five hits, striking out four over eight innings, improving his record to 7-4. The lone bright spot for the Jays was Jose Bautista’s 17th longball of the season, a two-run shot in the sixth but it wasn’t enough as Atlanta cruised to the 5-2 win.
