The Cardinals took their series opener against the Dodgers on Thursday night. Lance Lynn picked up the win after allowing one run on five hits and striking out seven over six innings of work. Adrian Gonzalez went 1-for-3 with a RBI double in the first, but the hit of the night came in top of the seventh, when Allen Craig singled home the go-ahead run as St. Louis edged Los Angeles 2-1.
