Brewers Trade Greinke, Blank Nationals

The slumping Brewers shipped Zack Greinke off to the Angels and later shut out the Washington Nationals 6-0 to snap a seven-game losing streak. Starter Mike Fiers picked up the win for Milwaukee.

After trading Zack Greinke to the Angels, the Brewers blanked the Nationals at Miller Park on Friday night. Starting pitcher Mike Fiers went 6.1 innings while striking out nine and the Milwaukee bullpen took over from there to complete the shutout. Aramis Ramirez hit his 12th homer of the season, going 3-4 with 2 RBI. The Milwaukee offense jumped on Nats starter Ross Detwiler who lasted only 4.2 innings and gave up 4 earned runs on 7 hits. Corey Hart smacked his 18th home run of the year, as the Brewers snapped their 7-game losing streak in the 6-0 victory.
