Arizona Diamondbacks Dropped by Padres

The Diamondbacks fell to the visiting San Diego Padres, 9-5. Jason Kubel launched a grand slam in vain for Arizona, which lost it's fourth straight game. Paul Goldschmidt added an RBI single.

The Diamondbacks got roughed up by the Padres at Chase Field on Tuesday night. Rookie Trevor Bauer allowed seven runs, six of which were earned, six hits and four walks in only three-and-one-third innings of work. Yonder Alonso homered and Chase Headley had a bases-clearing double as San Diego raced out to an 8-0 lead. Jason Kubel clubbed a grand-slam in the bottom of the fifth off reliever Nick Vincent to cut the deficit in half. However that's as close the Diamondbacks would get in their 9-5 loss to the Padres.
