Rangers Edge Senators, Force Game 7

Chris Kreider scored the go-ahead goal and Derek Stepan added a tally and two assists as the New York Rangers staved off elimination with a 3-2 win against the Ottawa Senators on Monday night.

John Tortorella and the Rangers faced elimination as the Blueshirts skated with the Senators up north in Game 6 Chris Kreider's first of the postseason gave New York a 3-1 lead in the final minute of the second period. But Ottawa closed the gap late in the third it appeared that Chris Neal kicked the puck into the net during a scrum in the crease, but Jason Spezza was credited with a good goal and the Sens cut their deficit to one. And with seconds left in regulation Ottawa looked to tie it up Erik Karlsson's final shot was blocked as Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers held on for the 3-2 victory forcing a decisive Game 7 Thursday night at Madison Square Garden.
