Pacers Dominate; Kobe Powers Lakers

The Pacers rattled off their second straight win by more than 30 points in a 114-82 victory over the Pistons. Kobe Bryant's 40-point performance lifted the Lakers over the Trail Blazers, 111-107.

Teams that improved to 2-0 out of the All-Star break were the focus on a full-tilt Friday night in the NBA. Kobe Bryant carried the Lakers to within two games of the .500 mark. But we begin at Bankers Life Fieldhouse with the Central Division leading Pacers.

(vo) Indiana pulled off their second straight 30-plus point rout, a 114-82 drubbing of the Pistons. The Pacers shot 56 percent from the field and 71 percent from three as they passed New York to move into second place in the Eastern Conference. Coach Frank Vogel likes his team's quick starts as of late.

(vo) Jetting through the snowy midwest to Los Angeles where Kobe backed up his playoff proclamation by putting up a 40 spot to lead the Lakers to a 111-107 home win over the Blazers. The Black Mamba got a ton of help from Dwight Howard who finished with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Los Angeles' much needed victory kept them within three-and-a-half games of the 8th seeded Rockets.
