Emotional Chiefs Prevail over Panthers

One day after linebacker Jovan Belcher took his own life, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Carolina Panthers, 27-21. Cam Newton threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns in the loss.

The Carolina panthers traveled to Aarowhead Sunday take on the mourning Chiefs in their first game since Javon Belcher committed suicide. Cam Newton had an excellent day, completing 15 of 27 pass attempts for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns, but that effort was in vein. Newton's counterpart Brady Quinn lifted his squad, completing 19 passes for 201 yards and a pair of scores. Peyton Hillis added another touchdown as Kansas City picked up an emotional second win of the season, defeating Carolina, 27-21.
