Blackhawks Hook Sharks, Set NHL Record

The Chicago Blackhawks edged the visiting San Jose Sharks on Friday, 2-1. Chicago posted its 17th straight point and set the record for the NHL's best start to a season with the victory.

The Blackhawks are officially off to the best start in NHL history after beating the Sharks 2-1 on Friday night. Chicago has earned a point in each of their first 17 games, breaking the former record set by the Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks during the 2006-07 season. Brandon Saad's
shorthanded goal in the third period stood up as the game-winner thanks to netminder Ray Emery's 27 saves. Coach Joel Quenneville spoke after the win.
