Ryan Lochte shocked the world by blowing away teammate and friend Michael Phelps to win gold in the 400-meter individual medley on Saturday. Lochte cruised to a three-and-a-half second victory while Phelps finished a disappointing fourth. Phelps failed to medal in an Olympic race for the first time since he was a 15-year old at the Sydney Games in 2000. The winningest Olympian ever also saw his streak of 16 straight medals, 14 golds and 2 bronzes, come crashing to a halt. Phelps barely qualified for the final and has his work cut out for him as he looks to become the first male swimmer to win the same individual event at three straight Olympics.
